11/2/04 I had to reconstitute some comments, well what I had left, after an incident with the Elfwood Goblin, the one that runs around messing things up. The Short Version:In June I ended up with some comments from a Mod's choice and she ended up with three of mine. I used to have more comments on this one(this picture has been up since I joined in 1999) but I don't think I squirreled those away anywhere. So there go all the comments telling me 'Sturm is not a knight of the rose!' --JH-- Here is Sturm, based more or less on (guess!) Larry Elmore's version. Some of the proportions bother me, but I like the armor, I worked a long time on it!
Scottish Joke: Notice seen in a field in the north of Scotland: The farmer allows walkers to cross the field for free, but the bull charges.

I should not really write anything, becouse I maybe just write something bad becouse I didn't like Sturm, but oh... Forget it!! ;o)

The picture is nice, and yes! The armour is really cool! And his mustach... I really want to cut it off!! ((mihihihihi)) And yes, I don't like Sturm! But you did a really good artwork!! Keep it going! Like your drawing style!

1 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: *LOL* There isn't any rule that says you HAVE to like a character... I know that Margaret Weis didn't like that one cleric and asked if she could kill him off because she kept forgetting him in scenes! 1 And there is something about mustaches that makes one want to see what the guy would look like without one! <1"

Finally! A Sturm Brightblade pic!
All tho, he looks different than I hade immagened him

18 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: He looks a bit stiff, this was one of my earlier pictures. I keep saying I'll make a newer on if him but it hasn't happened yet. 2 I think there are one or two more pictures of him in the woods. "

That armour looks great! I love the face too, by the way, especially the facial hair.

1 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Thanks! This was my first try at chain mail, I drew a lot of little circles... After this picture I studied how Larry Elmore did it and wished I'd done that before I tried chain mail! His technique is a lot easier. 2"

Well, if your going to make a new Sturm pic, you should do it, because he DOES look a little stiff. Maybe he went to bed in his chain mail to many times. O.o

1 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note : I can imagine the patterns in his skin after a night in that! (no pun intended)"

OOOOOO hes cool looking..takes a big man to be king of roses...bet all the ladys love him..HA..i am being corney sorry..i love it...i wonder what he would look like colord...o.0...*tiltes head and stares in wonder*..lol...

12 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: *laughs* If anyone makes fun of him for being king of roses, well he is a knight after all, he has the ability to defend his honor. 2"

Great image. I really like the armor! You have a lovely portfolio!

:-) Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Why thank you Renata! I am glad you had fun browsing. 2(Drat that "comment from the artist" thing that is always checked!)"

nice sturm. HE is my all time favorite dragonlance char.
he was wearing his fathers armour most of the time and I think his dad was a knight of the rose. I will have to check. And his personnality was a little stiff to begin with.

6 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Thank you, and its nice to see a Sturm fan. You are right about the stiff personality, so I guess drawing him that way suits him. 2"

No criticisim intended but I always imagined sturm as leaner and older his mustache is a bit wispy it should be thicker and shorter. again dont get me wromg ita an exelent pic especially the armour
I never really liked any of the book cover interpritations sturm should be stern and battle ready at all times not looking like he just got a perm

:-) Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Thanks for the comments, it is always interesting to see how other folks see characters. It’s hard to capture them! There are so many ways I could make this picture better these days. Looking that this one it is really clear how long I have come from 1998! For one thing I would not sit there and draw each little ring of chain mail, man, was that tedious! 2"

est sularos oth mithas

:-) Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Ah yes, the famous oath, " My Honor Is My Life" I always liked that Sturm was so good, a very brave character. I think he got overlooked a bit at times."
