I like drawing dwarves [they are so cool aren't they?!] so I decided to so one...and she turned up. :)
Scottish Joke: When a bus company was prevailed upon to increase the concessionary fare to frequent travellers so that they got six journeys instead of four for a pound, one elderly gentleman, renowned for his frugality, even in a community where frugal folk are common, was still unhappy. 'It's all dam' foolishness,' he declared. 'Now we've got to walk to town six times instead of four times to save a pound!'

Wow, a female dwarf! I don't think I've *ever* seen a picture of a female dwarf before, it's great to see.

Jenny's note: And you hardly ever see a male dwarf either. *hum* this is interesting. I thought females of species were drawn more often, this doesn't seem to be the case with dwarves...

ah! she's beautiful! O.o her expression makes her seem... i dunno... real, like it's a storytelling pic. like there should be a dialogue running with it, or a narrator introducing her or something. ^^ there's just a lot of spirit in this one. ^___________^ seems like i know her from somewhere... ^____~

:-) Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: For some reason while reading your comment I got the picture of her having one of those big pads of paper on a stand that flip back (the kind that people usually use for demonstrations, and with markers!). Thanks for the awesome comment! 2"

Oh, how kyute!! She's absolutely adorable ^__^ And you even gave her whiskers, like dwarves are supposed to have ^_^ I like the simple style of colouring, it looks really neat. Good job!

I've seen many pictures of female dwarves but never one with a beard (and all those artists say they don't agree that they should have beards). I have to say I couldn't quite imagine how a dwarven woman would look like before I saw this picture! Brilliant!

18 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note:*bows bows* Thank you, thank you! The Female dwarf seems to be rarer than the male dwarf when it comes to being drawn. Of course I have never really actively searched out female dwarf drawings...It's interesting that so many books describe the females with beards and yet so few of us are up to the task of drawing them that way! I opted for more of a mutton chop look. 2 "

You have many pretty pictures, but this is my fav 2 she looks sweet! And it's the first time that i see a female dwarf with a beard and actually like it 2

1 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Thank you I am glad you like it! 2 Now I am curious and will have to do a search on female dwarves in the woods. I think they are probably the rarest critters here in Elfwood! 2"

Really cool. I'm not usually a fan of dwarves, but I like this particular pic. I always liked the traditional look of the painter and the pallette even though I suck at painting myself. I'm only good with pen and pencil. heh. I like the little hat too. Saucy touch.

7 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note:You know, I JUST realised that I drew the pallet the wrong way! The part with the paints should be resting on her arm <2 Shows you how much I know about traditional pallets( before I worked at an art store anyways!)! I am not much for painting either, my favorite medium is watercolor pencils, lots less mess and cleaning up to do! Which that said, I am very very good at painting myself, I always get some paint on me SOMEwhere! ;D Thanks for the comment!"

Marvelous! The expression on her face is priceless. Makes your imagination get a workout trying to figure out what someone just said to her. And the muttonchops are a nifty idea. Nice compromise. I'll be checking back here in hope that you do more dwarven females.

7 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's note:Thank you! 2 Wow, there is so much stuff I want to draw now, I don't know how I'll get it all done today and tomorrow! <2When I do another female dwarf I'll have it right next to this one. I am so happy to have a scanner now!"

You did a great job on the shading here!
Love Rian

She is so cute and funny! Since dwarfs excell in craftsmanship of all sorts, I'm sure she is an awesome painter.

1 Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: *bows* Thank you! I guess more people think of Dwarves as the kind to do metal work more than any other kinds of art. (Hey everyone, check out Dagmar's Elfwood gallery some awesome stuff there!)"
