Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: I love reworking pictures, I might color this one again with my watercolor pencils, make it less grainy. Thank you for your comment!" | |
| 9 Feb 2004 | Mouse | Loading...Wow! I love the arm band and necklace for their simple intricacy, (if that makes any sense) but I believe what I just grabs me is her hair. The way you've colored it, and how well the net is done and how it resembles a crown, and how you continued the strings at the bottom of her do, and... and... Oh, it's just so pretty! If I were a character, that would be the kind of hair I would dream of having. Jenny M. Heidewald replies: " Jenny's Note: I'm glad you like the jewelry, I really like the earrings myself! I think that she probably has a ton of hairspray to keep her hair looking so good! It's so shiney, I am surprised by it every time I look myself. It would indeed be dream hair! Thank you for the lovely comment! " | |
| 24 Mar 2004 | Randy taffy Linbourn | Loading...oooo very pretty.......i was going to say elegant but gothic elf got there before me(so i'll say it in a different way)*coughs to clear throat*..hmm yes i think she's very ,REGAL looking, maybe a princess from a some elven royal family?...anyway i think your art work is excellent (i don't know how you do it but there's something believable and/or humorous about your art) well done,i love it,............................AND she is rather pretty as well. :0) Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: I can't remember what exactly she was (actually I don't remember if I even had her in my graphic novel yet, or if I was just drawing), but definately royal. *bows* Thank you, I am glad my silly side shows in some of my art. | 1 May 2004 | Astri Snodgrass | Loading...I love how you shaded the hair and skin. The jewelry seems to be lacking shading, though. I love the clothes and hairstyle, I can understand why it's your favorite! ~stridge~ Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note:Thank you! I really do need to work more on my shading, maybe I'll recolor this one sometime. Right now I am going through a certain Hope Hoovers Gallery, and she puts my attempts at shading to shame!" | |
| 9 May 2004 | Astri Snodgrass | Loading...Hi again... just wanted to say that after I saw this I was really inspired to draw a portrait with cool hair. I drew it in charcoal, then liked it so much that I colored it and everything! I'll post it in my gallery soon. Just wanted to let you know that you inspired me! Thanks! ~stridge~ Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Awww, that is so sweet! I look forward to seeing it, let me know when you get updated! " | |
| 30 Aug 2004 | Casey M.A. McCollow | Loading...She has so much grace. the coulor is just so perfect. i love the ink one but the coulor just gives her life. i love her look... she looks like iv just said something to try and decive her, but she's givin me that, "I no fool" look! very cool! Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note:*laughs* I like the "I'm no fool!" thought. Thank you for all of your lovely comments, and keep practicing your art, you have talent! " | |
| 17 Jun 2005 | Nanna Naumann | Loading...She's so alive! The colouring is really a good job, she kinda "pops" out of the picture as a real person. The b/w is more of a cartoon. Her eyes are great, they look very intelligent. Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Thanks! I think her eyes are the best part. I keep meaning to color this one again, but the way things go with me recoloring in photoshop she'll end up looking totally different!" | |
| 30 Aug 2005 | Rebecca Latimer | Loading...I love this pic!! The colour shading is excellent and very very rich. Its wonderful. I really like the sketch and colour versions put together too. Good job!!! Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Thank you! I like before and after pictures as well, it's always interesting to see how something started out and how it ended up. I wonder what a computer colored version would turn out like...hmmmm... " | |
| 4 Sep 2005 | Eva Wilhite | Loading...I love how the ears are tucked back....gorgeous art! Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: Thank you, Eva!" | |
| 21 May 2007 | Jamie Wyld | Loading...elf babe!!! she's hot!! (sound a bit familiar ) Anyhow, yes it would look a bit odd as a full study, as the proportions aren't 'right' in relation to human figures... but what do people expect, she's an ELF right... not HUMAN... there that's that cleared up. In the context of this picture, this all works just fine... 'sides if you can't use a bit of artistic license on a fantasy picture, when exactly CAN you use it? It's fair to say that the line work and the coloured version both work well... I have lost count of the times I've made a sow's ear of a perfectly good study with the tragic magic of colour. Has a kind of Elfquest feel to it. Jenny M. Heidewald replies: "Jenny's Note: *LOL* Yeah, that does sound familiar! Gah, I just took a look at it in my gallery because I haven't looked at it in so long, and the quality is very sad! But yes, I agree about the elf VS human looks, in the books they are always going on about the unearthly beauty of elves. < I love your saying:"Tragic magic of color" This was back when I was only really fiddling around with coloredpencils, I never sharpen them like it's recommended, so I got really grainy pictures. And yep, it was my ElfQuest phase. Thanks for popping in! " | |
