This was a commission done for Camilla Grow, done with Absolute matte, watercolor and micron pens on 8.5x11 watercolor paper. Here is the beginning of the background story I asked her for:

"The House of Shen is becoming a most influential family in Dimension 13. To the people of this world, little of their origins are known, only that prominent nobles and religious figures were born unto them.

It began with Cael, Jin-Shen and Sheera. Two brothers and a sister arrived through the mists. According to their people's custom, Sheera is Jin-Shen's bride, also. The Nameless are a race that is dying out. Many of them marry their own siblings to assure purebred children. Soon after his arrival, Jin-Shen was named Duke of Anyas, the land they joined, a position he later gave up in favor of becoming the warrior of the light elemental deities.

Sheera gave birth to a daughter shortly after their arrival, and there was much joy in the House. It was a time of war. The light elemental deity of fire, Quicken, blessed the child before her birth, and so Jin-Shen and his wife dedicated their firstborn to the goddess, naming her Nuria Shen Empyris, the Goddess's Fire.

Babes speaking wisdom of the ages is not something well understood, so it is quickly that the little Nuria grew. The racial memory was strong in her, as it was in her brothers and sisters to follow. Imagine, if you will, being aware of most everything your ancestors were. This is something any Nameless learns to live with. Although they grow up fast, once they reach the healthy age of maturity, they begin to age much slower than a human. Unless killed, they will live forever. Unfortunately, so many die."

I like this serial : beautiful colours and details. This one in particular is very romantic, with all these beautiful roses.
