mr. Cthulhu. Made from modelling paste, painted copper and patinated with green. Thanks for the Modpick. One of my missions in life is now completed.

I had a really vivid Cthulu-esqe dream a while back, in which I thought he was asleep near an island in the mid-southern ocens, I don't know exactly where..

The weird thig is, I've never read *any* Lovecraft books, and know nothing about it.. I only realised the connection when I told my boyfriend about my odd dream and he freaked..

Anyway.. *cough* the model.. it's great, I like teh dark phography. looks more.. ominous that the typical show-your-model-in-perfect-detail pics..

Looks cool, a bit dark though. And the "patina" is maybe a tad too light. Which prog did you use for modelling & rendering? (It IS a render, right?) I'm modelling a Cthulhu myself, too.. ..still WIP, though..Nope. it´s a statue made from modelling paste

oooo Cthulhu! Cthulhu f'tagn! lovely piece, and i love your take on him. I think I now know from where Miyazaki got the idea for their "Radish Spirit" in Spirited Away- this looks almost exactly like that! Minus the rice bowl for a hat of course...

Heehee! Cthulhu! ^^. Our entire party almost got offed by him once when our DM accidently made one of the NPC
s say his name....and Cthulhu has a 25% chance to hear his name rather than the 1% of the other gods....and he heard it, hehe. The DM didn't want us to die from his mistake though, so he made some guy read some passage from the Necronomicon to make Cthulhu go away (no one questioned whether this would actually work or not =P)

Anyway, this is a GREAT sculpture of him! Well deserving of your mods! ^^

This would be really interesting if it was bronze. When I first saw it I got my hopes up that it was, but nope.
If you ever get a chance to take a bronze casting class don't pass it up.
