SciFi and Fantasy Art Auberon in his Autumn Dress by Helena Štìpánová

This Auberon is certainly far from the medieval one. He's more like Shakespeare's Auberon in Midsummer Night's Dream, but he shouldn't be thought of this way. He is simply the king of elven realm, lord of imps, faeries, elves, sprites and such. I see him as a creature bond tightly with nature ways and cycles and seasons, so he changes a lot during the whole year. He is wisest, kindest and most dignified in autumn. Most dangerous, tricksy and unpredictable in summer (you're right, I don't like summer much). In spring he tends to be childish and you shouldn't expect any reasonable talk or ideas from him at that time. In winter he sleeps and dreams most of the time, waking just rarely, and if he wakes, he can be quite unfriendly, if you disturb him. I want to make pics of other seasons Auberons as well, maybe I could make an Auberon for every month one day...:-) But now, Autumn Auberon must do...:-) I know, that one of his shoulders is really messed up, but I quite like the pic anyway.

He reminds me of me, lol in winter I sleep most of the time and if you wake me up I'll bite your head off. In spring I'm childish and silly and in summer I'm kinda crazy (but I like summer). In autumn I am usually really nostalgic and lost in memories, but I come up with some of my best ideas then.

23 Nov 2007	James Sadler	Loading... Wow, I really love this picture. It's really great! He looks really regal, I love how you've captured that. It reminds me of one of Alfonse Mucha's drawings! Except of Oberon (Or Auberon, whatever... Sounds the same when you say it!). I love the colours, and the style you've done it in and the idea of doing one for each season! I had a similar idea myself, but not with this subject. I think you should definitely do it! they would all look great in your style, and displayed together in some sort of montage or triptych, except with 4, not 3!!!
