| 20 Jan 2004 | Helen | Loading...This is very good, but I have only one nitpick. Well more a matter of preference. Tolkien at one point said Celegorm was blonde (Where did he get it from? No idea.) He also did say he wasn't at another point. Personally I think it's more interesting to have him blonde. Helena Štěpánová replies: "I read it too, somewhere. Same case as raven-head Maedhros. Didn't know about it, when drawing those portraits... But as you've written - more a matter of preference...Thanks for the comment." | |
| 9 Jun 2004 | Anonymous | Loading...To other commentors: Celegorm is NOT blonde. I can't believe how many times people have to be told this. All because his nickname was Celegorm the Fair. Fair does not automatically equal blonde. If you look it up in the dictionary you'll see fair can also mean 'handsome' or 'beautiful' there is no possible way Celegorm could be blonde.
To the artist: Well done you for giving him the CORRECT hair colour and don't listen to the morons that say its wrong. They're the type of people who say Fingolfin was blonde too (he was NOT btw thats an even bigger pet hate of mine, it clearly states in the Silmarillion that Finarfin's line was the 'Only house of the princes of the Noldor with golden hair' | |
| 10 Jul 2004 | Xiiaeon | Loading...Wow, absolutely amazing. It is perfect, I only wish I could draw, because if I could I would have to draw some as perfect as that for my RP character, although completely different *lol*. I love the LotR twist though, it is so interesting. One word can describe this *Wow!* Helena Štěpánová replies: "Thanks." | |

| 30 Jan 2005 | Karolina Sirielle Węgrzyn | Loading...Of Celegorm's hair colour - could he be more fair than Curufin who mirrors his father - the most beautiful Noldo? No. So that has to be something with his hair... But what? Blond is quite hard to achieve if there were no Telerin ancestors*. Then perhaps a scent of silver after his grand mother Miriel? Ivaneth did it this way - she mixed dark hair with a scent of silver, the result is beautiful I like her idea. Resuming - Celegorm's hair are up to interpretation, might be blond, might be dark, black... Differently to black haired Fingolfin, 'son of his father' * Nothing for sure, but they might have been - Miriel had silver hair, not Noldorian colour... And We know nothing of her parents. | |
