SciFi and Fantasy Art Fëanor by Helena Štìpánová

I couldn't decide at first if this is Fëanor or not, but I got used to the idea. I know he looks somewhat old and some may find him too ugly to be an elf, but that's what MY Fëanor looks like. OK... What's funny about it: when I started making the pic, it was supposed to be Stanley H. Tweedle. (Those who don't know - captain of the Lexx...) But I changed my mind and it ended up as Fëanor. Not that these two have much in common, but I like them both immensely.

16 Sep 2004	Soni	Loading... I think it's very nice to see an older elf. I've never thought of elves as 20 something. That's still just a boy, and tolkien said elves were not 'pretty boys'. Thirty thirty-five years old has always seemed much better to me. So... maybe he's a little old, but.... maybe not. And I think he's beautiful enough.
16 Sep 2004	Sara M Osth	Loading... looks at the picture for a long time This might well be Fëanor. He does look old, yes, or at least older than your typical 20-something-elf. But elves are "ageless". That doesn't have to mean "young", after all. And a Fëanor, consumed by greed and pride and constant strain, might very well look like this. I love the eyes. Spirit of Fire. Aye. Good work! Helena Štìpánová replies: "Thank you. I just didn't think that 20-something Fëanor would be alright... He deserved better..."
16 Sep 2004	Siegfried Baumann	Loading... stifles urge to do first comment dance Wow, this looks awesome. What did you use? Charcoal? Very lifelike. Helena Štìpánová replies: "Thanks. I used pencil. The slight reddish tint is a computer work. And I usually add some contrast and darken the whole thing a little. Usually a little bit more than it would need to repair the damage scanner has done...;-)"
3 Feb 2005	Quiet and shy	Loading... I wish I was aquainted better with his story sighs oh well. This has amazing shading work, by the way, and I agree that it's good to show older elves. Until the LotR movies came out, I always saw Elrond as and old man with long gray hair. Thanks for reminding me, even with a different elf.
