||Erik didn't know how long after he started wondering that the girl began to hang around him. It started out as protection for her. He wanted nothing to do with people and even the toughest street ruffians were afraid of him. She would sometimes get things for him he could not, and together they survived. She barely spoke, and never smiled. Erik never saw fear in her eyes, even when she saw his full face, which shocked him completely. No matter how many times he tried to drive her off, she would still remain. Whatever demons had tortured her, they must have been just as terrible as his. The first time he ever saw her be remotely cheerful was when she heard a songbird sing on a pathway. It was then he decided to take care of this little orphan girl, his little redemption.
