"Pregnant angel" by Elena Hope Camp

I do believe that, in a sense, all pregnant women are angels. And this picture perfectly captures that aura of divinity they all carry. An amazing and deeply touching work of art! How on earth did you accomplish that background?! I must bookmark this as one of my favorite pictures on Elfwood!

Beautiful work though no, angels cannot bare children. They don't fall in love or anything of that sort even though many people seem to believe they do (and if anyone doesn't believe that, I can prove it!)

But still, beautiful job. I really love the colors. Very calming and smooth.

I think the details could use some enhancement but I do like the idea of an angel becoming pregnant. As a sci-fi writer I've had to do a lot of reading up on myths and legends from many of the world's religions, both current and ancient. Some of the myths I've read do say that even though angels are suppose to be beings of light and without a physical form they reportedly do have the power to assume a biological form. In that case a pregnant angel would be locked into that form until she gave birth. In most of the legends, however, it's usually a male angel impregnating a human female. A story in point is the legend that the biblical Samson was fathered by an angel.

A pregnant angel? Oh, what would the Lord think? I mean seriously, do you KNOW how women become pregnant? I’m a 15 year old girl, and I know. I’m sure all angels are virgins.
