Aerwyna's fins and tail look like flower petals. There's a lovely tranquil sort of feeling to this piece.why, thank you...what a nice comment! yeah, it kinda IS a flower petal^^

May a future biologist have a minor remark about the narwhal?

The narwhal's tusk is a tooth, so I think it shouldn't grow out from the middle of its forehead but more from the upper lip. (By the way, an adult narwhal is something like 4-5 m long and strewn with an irregular dark pattern, but I acknowledge that this is a fantasy picture You might want to check out the photo gallery of http://www.narwhal.info, an old site but apparently with the best narwhal photos on the web.

Apart from the nuances of narwhal anatomy, this picture is a treat to the eye. Excellent colours and overall atmosphere.thank you for the link and info. yes, this is rather fantastical representation, as i tried to portray them as the unicorns some fantasize them to be. tho i may try to incorporate more realistic ones later. thank you for your comments^^

Howard faria replies: "thanks Sherri^^ it was done on colored "translucent" paper. i think it’s called vellum paper. i printed the outline on it and colored it with color pencils."

This is beautiful! Such wonderful shading, colors, textures, tones, theme, etc..!! (The narwhal is a little small though, oh well, the awesomeness of the picture makes up for it!)
