Humbert Furness-Gibbon

Humbert is a trsditionally trained artist, trying to explore a wider array of styles.

Hi, my name is Humbert. I'm 26 years old and currently manage one of my parents estates in England. My work gives me plenty of time to explore artistic expression, and I've dabbled in oils, pencils and sculpture. I'm particularly proud of my latest foray into computer art, as seen here with the travels and trials of Felar. He's an incredibly deep character with attributes which many in todays world could do well to learn from. I attended Leeds university and studied business management, and will shortly be privately funding my PHD in Art with an emphasis on social disfunction, with the intent of working with mentally and socially challenged children.

23 Feb 2006	Jaz	Loading... I'm browsing through Elfwood quite a while and almost never leave a comment, don't know why (definitely not lack of time, but well i'm just not in mood)... But I need to say something here. I just love your Art. And it's definitely art... some people here seem to forget that art is not only shading and proportions but also creativity. Well that's it... Please i'd love to see more!

(not in the bad way! in the "made my day" way!!!) don't bother with those mean anonymous people...I shall hunt them down, my elf thieves and I!!!! sneaks off with bow anyway I think that these are more than "stick people", I mean, they have heads, hair, expressions, clothes...I think it's the feelings, especially, that really shows the art. Like the wizard's "oh brother..." look and the picture one with the girl the elf loves. i like 'em. good job!!!

16 Jan 2007	A Lady	Loading... I think these pictures are perfect for children. They have a simplicity which is strangely appealing and wonderfully expressive. They remind me of my younger siblings (in a good way) and really made me smile. Children don't ask for amazingly detailed and perfectly proportioned pictures. They want something that tells a story, with feeling. (Look at Quentin Blake's illustrations. Delightfully scruffy and eccentric; I don't think Roald Dahl's books would be the same without them). Judging by your pictures, I think you are well-suited for working with children and I wish you all the best.
