A character portrait done for a friend. She's an 18 year old bard/sorceress in D&D 3rd edition, from a spain-like country.

Hmm...of this picture...you know, the only thing that bothers me about it is whatever attaches the scabbard to her belt or whatever. You should have went with a baldric of some sort. But I must compliment you on two things - first, the sword hilt. Very simple and yet intricate, it does wonders to the drawing itself. Secondly, I really like the Lute. Something about it makes it seem well-used and old...keep up the good work.

It took me a second to realize that there was a bird on her shoulder, but once I figured that out, I just sat back and admired this picture. I love pencil drawings, but it could be because I am a bit biased since I use mostly pencil. Anyway, your attention to detail is superb. Keep up the good work!!

The sword is uhng from a belt. Unfortunately you can't see any of the belt detail because of the nessesary resizing to stay under 100k. The girl has slung the whole mess behind her so she can play her lute unobstructed.

This is a really good pic. Lots of detail in the body. Only 3 complains... one of those is the bird... and its really not your fault. I could use more defining. like one person already said, it took a second to figure out what it was. Second is the lack of background. This is my biggest complaint. Its only a character sketch, i know, but a background would make this super cool... maybe the inside of an Inn or something. and last, but not least, i don't like her face. It seems too blank, especially compared to the rest of the picture. It needs more detail and emotion.
