I like vampires, so they show up in a lot of my stuff. Despite the terror of being sucked dry of blood, there is something very sensual about vampire stories.

Curtains flutter through a balcony door,

A moonbeam lights the flagstone floor.

Open shutters are an invitation

To the ones who nightly station

Seeking blood of fair young maids

Wracking a debt that will never be paid.

Deadly fangs and snow white skin

Are exposed in a wolfish grin.

She knows naught but his strong embrace,

She sees naught but his handsome face.

Her flesh is fire against his ice.

An angelic face hides his vice,

But Lucifer’s task lights his gaze.

Death becomes her the longer he stays.

In his trance she surrenders.

His lips press against hers, tender.

She tilts her head to take his kiss

And he murmurs with expectant bliss.

Her neck exposed, invites his sin.

His gentle kiss breaks her skin.

She cries out softly, realization come

Of the crime that will be done.

Slowly she quiets, caught in his arms.

His embrace assures she’ll meet no harm.

A silhouette of entangled lovers,

Impressed within her bedroom covers.

Willingly she bends to her master,

Heedlessly committing to disaster.

A poor young girl with no future

Is hungry for change, whatever the torture.

He would know the kiss of death

Is one so willingly endured

When the victim is but a breath

Away from being cured

Of all the ills that plague her life.

Immortality could end her strife.

His hand takes hers, pulling her from bed

She rises anew, born to a new stead.

A crown of bones rests on her head.

Now you may bow to the Queen of the Undead.

wow, that's cool! I love it! but sometimes the rhythm gets a bit bumpy. you should check the syllables next time. It helps a lot when you read it out loud. then I always realize when something is wrong. anyways, cool poem!
