This is kind of a surreal story, I feel like, since it never happened....

There was water dripping off his flower-white eyelashes and I didn't realize they were tears until it was too late. I left him in the rain, too frightened of myself to turn around. I could hear him call my name, the dye in his hair ran down his neck, soaking his shirt blue. Calling my name like he was saying something else, like calling out to God. I can't look at him, can't look at little-boy eyes that might be blind. He was sorry, she wasn't even pretty, I was prettier inside. I've heard it all before. Crying something I do all too easy and the rain poured down, soaking my shirt, exposing a 159-pound body to him, fat I was born with. He looked at my stomach and my size 13 jeans with the red punk scrawl down the leg, at the white line of my bra under the shirt, at hands made helpless by his face. My glasses slid down my nose as he stood and held out his hands. Step my clumsy step he came towards me with sparkling blue eyes too wide for his face, she was nothing, you're everything. Salt water mixed with rain, pain with anger mixed with a desire to forgive. Forgive and be forgotten. Arms around me and I cried as he told me I was beautiful like she never could be, this faceless girl of my nightmares. The rain kept falling only it wasn't falling on us. It fell on the pavement as he kissed my tears away.

sorry a misspelling on my part. ooops. I meant a little more description about the characters could help. not couldn't LOL.

I knew what you meant. ^_^ Yeah, I know I didn't talk too much about that, but the writing was a stream-of-conciousness thing....

Yes, for those who have been through something like that, it could bring back memories. You bring that moment right out of nowhere. Congrats. The only thing that I think you should add is some description about the setting, and a little about the characters couldn't help.

See below.

This is so beautiful and painful, it reminds me all too much of my own fears and nightmares... I love the imagery, the rain accentuating the hopeless situation, "his flower-white eyelids" (that's a marvelous picture) and so on. It is keenly written. I don't think that an author's work has to be his/her "diary entries" though. Does it matter if you have or have not experienced this? You are but the medium of the story... There is no "truth".

No, this never happened to me. But really, when she speaks about herself it's a self portrait almost. Well, to an extent. I almsot wish this had happened to me sometimes. I think this is one of my fave writings...
