SciFi & Fantasy Artwork by Ian (Mahnian) Smith

Ian is not sure. He is an artist, a writer; he dabbles in a little of this and a little of that. But does that tell you who he is? No.

Hi Ian
Thanks for the nice comments on my gallery. I am enjoying your art, too. I love your style.

Your drawing shows inventiveness in style, but not in creativity. Are female warriors or pus-like monsters really the best that you can think of? From someone who can combine styles for a new approach, I would expect more creativity and vision. Thank You

:-) Ian (Mahnian) Smith replies: "Interesting.. I have to admit, I was taken a bit back by this comment, but at least you were honest.. So, I will think about what you said.. Thank you for such a candid reflection. "

Wow, you have an amazing gift with art. I love your style, it's so beautiful and you give life to your characters so well. Wonderful job, keep it up, you have so much talent.

I could not stop in here and not leave a little hello. Your work is very very very beautiful. I wish i had the time to actually sit down and try to draw this well. Please, so pretty, more more!!

Ian, you crack me up 2 I'll be back to play around your gallery later.. but as an interesting sidenote to the Fokker, the correct spelling even from there (seeing as Robotech was dirrived from Macross) is Focker. However, in reffering to Robotech, keep it as Fokker, or even more angry fan-like people will be after you.

Whee... I really should stop!

FIRE! FIRE! FIIIIIIIIIIIIRE!
I wonder if this anonymous person felt that they would hurt me, or get some violent reaction? Should I lash back, defend my work? Maybe I should tell him he has no right to say such things!
I wonder if he only wanted to hurt me, or if it was a fight he was looking for.
Strange, I assume that ‘A Person’ is a he; I guess I am predisposed to assuming assholes all tend to be men.
Anyway Mr, or Mrs/Miss/Ms, Person. I draw my work to be viewed, and the most hurt you could have ever suffered me was to never comment at all. You saw, you commented, that means my work had enough of an impact on you comment, bravo.
Anyway, you made my day, I love to effect my viewers. Cheers to you! You rock 'A Person'"

The figures seem to be out of proportion or just overweight in some pictures. Looks as though you worked hard on some aspects , but then rushed to finish. I would expect more , but then i do not know your background in this field/art style. Pick a specific theme or style and stick with it. You have promise. Just need lots practice! }i{ AmY }i{
