Actualy the weapon in red faction you refer to is bassed off of a new riffle that is said to be the replacement for the M16, this is called the OICW, think M41A except when you run out of grenades you can detach the grenade launcher (also the launcher is the top barrel not the bottom) The Grenades are cappible of Air burst, limited homing, (It can turn a corner at a obtuse angle it cant turn on a 90 degree axis, in fact it would be lucky to go for any more than 5 degrees at a time.) the OICW also fires 10mm rounds in a submachine gun sized base, the Grenade launcher has a bullpup design for the magazine, and can fire 40mm grenades at a flick of a switch, a very, very nice gun. and it also has a sweet scope.

Great Pic man. Oh and I would vote for the P90 over the OICW as a good M16 replacement. Just a better gun (more rugged AND less expensive to manufacture).

Wiley, p90 is submachinegun, m16 is assaultrifle.

The M16 wont be replaced, it would be too expensive for retraining, now the British SA80 theres something that NEEDS to be replaced
