Child
By Iris Joyner
Blue walked into the town, he looked around, "This place is quiet, too quiet." He then heard cloth flapping in the wind. So he turned around, and he growled and began cursing in elven, "Damn, damn it all! The Ghost Clan!" Just then, a black cloaked figure appeared and its eyes were a bright, glowing green. Then, it spoke, "Yess…Ghost…Clan." Then it placed a bony hand on his shoulder and a crack of energy rendered Blue unconscious, "What the!!? Ugh." "Sweeet dreamss, elf boy." A dark chuckle came from the figure as it picked Blue up and carried him off.
Blue awoke and found himself tied up every way possible, and even worse, they were White Mar chains, they restrict magic. Blue tried working his hands out of them carefully, "Damn…well, just have to do it the hard way." He then pulled madly, trying to forcefully pull his hands out and he did succeed, a good amount of skin however, was scraped off of his knuckles. He then looked around. "Well…look who’sss awake." The cloaked figure appeared, and it chuckled darkly, then was silent. "Oh, a Death Knight…howdy," Blue said quickly, and brushed a few stray locks of blond hair out of his eyes.
The Death Knight was still silent, then suddenly, it attacked. Blue however, was much faster and quickly jumped into the air and over the knight and grabbed his sword. Then, with his sword in hand, and unsheathed, he pun around doing a circular slice and it cut straight through the knight like butter, and in an instant it was dead.
Blue later explored the rest of the town, seeing it wasn’t empty, but it was nothing but an extra large graveyard. The worst spot was the castle, which Blue soon left behind, the stench of the corpses overwhelming, and the way some were killed would even make him vomit. Before he was going to leave, he heard something crying, it sounded like an infant. He turned toward a large house and proceeded inside. He frowned at the smell of the corpses, "Hmm, must have been my imagination." Blue then heard more crying and he decided to follow the sound. He came to a lot of blankets and cloth that seemed to be hiding something, "??" He was a bit confused, so he took his sword and lifted up the blankets to find a secret compartment, he opened it. He found a baby, no older than 1 year old. Blue kneeled down and picked up the child, "So, there is a survivor…but, you need someone to take care of you." He took note it was a girl by its face, which was pretty and cute, a small nose, bright enthusiastic violet eyes, but a narrow face, and her ears wear small like a humans, but were slightly pointed, showing her half elven nature.
Blue looked around then walked outside and just stood on the doorstep while cradling the baby girl in his arms. The wind blew ferociously at his hair, whipping it around freely. "I want the world to mine…but, I’d have to ditch the infant." Blue thought about this, he wanted to dominate the world, but he didn’t have the heart to drop the child at some orphanage. He sighed and walked out of town, and called his black Pegasus, Darkwind, and rode off into the sunset saying, "I’ll take care of you…my dear Janet."
