I have a love-hate relationship with watercolor, but I think this turned out nicely. I used the salt for the background, which adds more texture and sometimes a snowflake pattern when the water is displaced properly (which I am yet to achieve). The "thing" on her lip is black makeup, because I wanted to go for something a little different than just red lips."

Kristin Lewis replies: "Thank you! The idea just sprung from my mind, to my fingertips, and through my pencil, and I just had to paint her."

I also can't help but think of the cover art to Jimi Hendrix's "Axis" when I see this. Very nice. Kristin Lewis replies: "Hmm... I actually wasn't thinking Hindu when I was painting this, but now that you mention it, it does have some resemblances. Thank you!"
| 3 Sep 2006 | Leonie van de Poppe | Loading...does she have 3 eyes? like her Kristin Lewis replies: "Hmm... I actually haven't quite decided whether she actually has a third eye, or if it is painted on as a part of her culture. Maybe you can help me decide! Thank you again Leonie!" | |

| 22 Sep 2007 | Roxanne Hancock | Loading...Looks sorto f to me like "Art Deco" meets Hindu-style work. Very interesting. The style is just as exotic as the subject! Kristin Lewis replies: "Why thank you! This was a very fun experiment." | |
