A red dragon queen in elven form. Not really much else to say, other than it was a watercolor experiment. Took 13 hours with watercolor, acrylic, india ink, black pen, brown pen, and salt. I'm really proud of the detail on her fur jacket, and by the way, those markings on her breasts are scales.  Enjoy!

Nice picture. I like the hair. And the scales look nice. What did you use the salt for? And what`s that on her lip?

2 Kristin Lewis replies: "Thank you. I have a love-hate relationship with watercolor, but I think this turned out nicely. I used the salt for the background, which adds more texture and sometimes a snowflake pattern when the water is displaced properly (which I am yet to achieve). The "thing" on her lip is black makeup, because I wanted to go for something a little different than just red lips."

Aw, weird... but very lovely!2 I like the colors, the details, and the whole idea in general is nice and original.

1 Kristin Lewis replies: "Thank you! The idea just sprung from my mind, to my fingertips, and through my pencil, and I just had to paint her."

I like it! It reminds me of the (very little) Hindu paintings that I've seen, especially the third eye. I also can't help but think of the cover art to Jimi Hendrix's "Axis" when I see this.

Very nice.

2 Kristin Lewis replies: "Hmm... I actually wasn't thinking Hindu when I was painting this, but now that you mention it, it does have some resemblances. Thank you!"

does she have 3 eyes? like her 1

6 Kristin Lewis replies: "Hmm... I actually haven't quite decided whether she actually has a third eye, or if it is painted on as a part of her culture. Maybe you can help me decide! Thank you again Leonie!"

This is such a gorgeous looking piece, the solid vibrant colour used looks very effective.

Looks sorto f to me like "Art Deco" meets Hindu-style work. Very interesting. The style is just as exotic as the subject!

1 Kristin Lewis replies: "Why thank you! This was a very fun experiment."
