The back fin only looks large because of the foreshortening of the sub. Look at the second picture and it’s a reasonable size. Yes you’re right, it’s the same ship, just a different angle that makes this fin look big. I even made a very simple model and photographed to get the right size proportions. What do you mean by that it might have added something different? Thanks!" | |

An outsized fin would simply give a different look to the submarine, perhaps closer to an actual animal. Come to think of it, think of how large a whale’s flukes are compared to the rest of him. Now there’s an idea, eh?
