| 9 Oct 2005 | Guđlaug G. Ingibjörg B. <gulla_griz | Hey, have you ever been to a viking festival in Iceland? There are two every year, the one in Hafnafjörđur is really big and really cool! I even know some vikings! The other festival is at Eiríksstađir, where Leifur (the one who found America!!!) was born and his father, Eiríkur rauđi (Eric the Red) lived for a short time. That one is rather small but still nice. Oh, I even know a woman from Norway who was a viking there one time! And I think she was a teacher... But anyway, nice pictures. But I have to say that Frigg had longer hair (or was it in a knot perhaps?) and I THINK that one half of Hel was supposed to be beautiful but the other dead and rotten. But, oh well.... hej a norge og bless, bless! Inger Lise Gobakken replies: "The only festival I've been to outside Norway is the one in York, U.K. Frigg is a mother, and as I noticed when I became one, you need to put your hair out of reach for little fingers... I read up on Hel before I made her, and I found so many different descriptions. So I combined some of them and made my own Hel " | |
