| 16 Feb 2007 | Candace E. Bell | Its been so long! so very long it seems! I cant even recall the last time I browsed your gallery here Barbara. I guess I got a bit preoccupied with my own art carrier and really had forgotten about Elfwood completely. I only came back to update my own Elfwood gallery since it was very much out of date!
I started browsing and suddenly remember Talismen. It took me about five minutes to remember the name so I could search for it! *blush* Oh how we let things slip away from us.
I'm so pleased to find you are still going forward with things. I was even more pleased to see new artwork! I especially love those romantic pictures of Ollie and Donnelly! There was a bunch of new artwork I hadn't seen. I decided to leave you a comment here rather then comment on each piece. You know how I feel about your work *winks* Id pretty much be lavishing each picture in the same way, as well as envying your talents and the creativity of both you and Steven! I wouldn't want to get redundant *grins*
The website is looking great, and I do love that cafepress calender Sorry to hear that Atlantis Studios fell through. Im sure you will find something!
My husband wants to be a writer, and I always tell him how great it will be when he receive his first rejection letter for his manuscript because it will mean he's officially a writer! It seems the best stories have a history of ups and downs before its made big
I look forward to seeing more! | |
| 23 Apr 2007 | Dani | I just went through all of your gallery, and fell in LOVE with all of your characters. Then I immediately went to your website and read all of the comics. When are you going to finish ROTE????? I'm addicted to your comic and I just found it. When? When? When???? | |
| 21 Jun 2007 | Sammiyad | WOW your work is incredible, i just have to keep colouring back. I would like to say i have a favourite but i just can't decide. Everything you do is just so incredible. I love art that has a story behind it and i jst wish that i could draw well enough to illustrate my stories. You are INSPIRATIONAL!!! | |
| 9 Aug 2007 | Luis B. Pagan | Just finished reading Exile and looking through your work. Wonderful stuff! Sad that you won't be able to finish Exile, I was enjoying it immensely. Hopefully we'll see you around in other mediums. | |
| 6 Oct 2007 | David Michael | Just checked the Talismen website and I'm sad to hear you're not continuing it. Is someone else taking over the art, or is the whole thing stopping? Also, since I'd like to start into it, which story is first? I started reading Return of the Exile, but there's obviously a lot of backstory that's implied in it. | |
| 6 Oct 2007 | David Michael | I particularly love the story elements in your pictures. Your characters seem so alive, and against my cynical nature I want to know more. Keep up the good work, 'cuz it really is good. | |
| 2 Nov 2007 | Natalie Adams | I can't say enough how AMAZING i thik your art is. the style of your book illustrations is so satisfying to look at, i could stare at them for hours on end...in fact, i have been...i wish i could illustrate my stories as readily as you obviously can! TOP MARKS!!!!!!!!! | |

| 5 Jun 2008 | Bill Gage | Barbara, There are certain things I have to say identify an artist. One is a recognizable style, for example Picasso and Rembrandt had styles that could be easily recognized. You have this sort of style. I really like that when I look at your drawings, you can tell that they come from the same artist. This isn’t to say that there never is variation or even evolution of a style, or experimentation either. It is so nice to see how well you have developed your style. Very nice. I also would like to say that it is a style I enjoy, very clean and pleasing caricaturization. This type of skill is the kind that will get you commissions.
