| 20 Jul 2004 | R Eckart | Loading...This is beautiful. I love the contrast between the lightning and the darkness of the rest of the picture. Barbara L. Jacobs replies: "R-Thank you, I was definately going for a high contrast dramatic shot, so I am glad it came off that way!~B" | |
| 20 Jul 2004 | Lucka ~*Eleniel*~ Kovac | Loading...LOL! I was just looking at this yesterday and wanted to write a comment when my dad called me to have lunch... coincidence, coincidence.... Anyway, I love the way you did the waves! They look real, and the lightning is just spectacular! Barbara L. Jacobs replies: "Lucka-those dads and lunch. What are you going to do? Well, thank you for coming back and writing! Appreciate the comments!~B" | |
| 20 Jul 2004 | T. M. Jephcott | Loading...It's like a Dreamworks Animation shot. It's brilliant. You know you see lik, The Road To El Dorado, that's Dreamworks. The see reminds me of something they'd use. It's definitely cartooned, but it just looked 3D rendered. I love the sea, I watched it for a while, then I looked at all of it together and it is superb. You can't tell much from the thumbnail, but I'm glad I clicked. Nice job. *thumbs up* Barbara L. Jacobs replies: "T.M.-Thank you- I love the sea too (even though I am landlocked in Iowa) That was why I wanted the second book to take place on the sea.thank you for the comments!~B" | |
| 20 Jul 2004 | Heather Steele | Loading...Excellent job on the lighting, it looks very professional. Barbara L. Jacobs replies: "Heather,Thank you- this is a new technique for me, so I am glad to know that it comes across as professional. (now if I could just get paid...;-)~B" | |
| 11 Sep 2004 | Sarah Ohme | Loading...I saw this one a long, long time ago here in the 'woods... at least six months. Did you have this uploaded before, perhaps? My brain is tying itself in knots over this... so weird! Anyway, I really enjoy this picture... the water is spectacular -- I love the way the light plays on the surface... You definitely captured the dramatic feeling you were going for. The ship is also extremely well done... the ship feels substantial in and of itself, so when you see how much larger the serpent is, it becomes that much more frightening. The top of the ship looks a little off to me, though -- it seems that the end closest to the viewer is at a slightly different angle than the front end... It's hardly noticable, though, and I'm betting that it's probably just me. Wonderful work! | |

| 22 Nov 2006 | Ebba Forsberg | Loading...OMG!!! How beautiful.... I can really imagine a traditional story, maybe fairy tale with such a scene. The water and the sky looks very realistic! I always find it sooooo hard to make water look like water and not...well. My water doesn't look like water, thats my point, but you made it great! | |
| 27 Dec 2006 | Mel | Loading...Hey Barb. I'm loving how much the lightning illuminates the sky,and how the sea serpent is right next to it, really bringing it out. I also admire the scales on that serpent. How long did that _take_ you??! | |
