"Between the Holly" by Miriam Bos

Another piece for my 'between the ... ' series. This time it's a bit christmas themed.

When it's getting closer towards Christmas, the Holly gets more attention from the people then usual. This beautiful plant knows a way to resist the cold days of darkness that winter brings. In earlier days the green leaves and red berries of the Holly meant hope. Spring would return soon. Nobody knew exactly why Holly resists the winter frost. Some believed that there is a little creature wondering between these plants that gives the plants the spirit to survive. But what exactly is hiding behind the holly?"

I really loved working on this piece. Green and red are my favourite color combination and I think it's showing. The bright red berries are in big contrast with the juicy green leaves.
