Tag As FavoriteComment		This painting is a combination of a legend and a myth. The girl could be Pandora opening the box of terrors. In the background you see a huge wave coming closer while lightning sets the sky on fire. That could point to the fall of Atlantis, being swallowed by the Ocean. On the box are symbols in the shape of clouds, light bolts and water, I made them up myself but tried to let them look like old greek style. I read somewhere that some ancient mythologies, like the Greek one, tell about male gods who use the lighting bolt to punish people/creatures with. The people were scared of it. Also on the box you can see some ancient greek words. They mean 'beginning of evil'. I found them in a special dictionary and thought they were suiting for this painting. The Girl is actually based on a photograph of me, the painter. Scary thougt to be Pandora myself, haha.

only one thing though..the mouth..it looks a bit weird. but the overall piece is marvelous I love all the details and everything! Congrats! keep up the good work! The rest of your gallery is stunning too, you have a really unique style2

Very lovely. Cool idea, and amazing detail. I have to say that the eyes/mouth/etc could be smaller, as could the head itself. Besides that, tis amazing!

The lizards! They're so cute! personally i don't actually like her or how she and the box are the focus of this one... The lizards and the lilies...the entire background is amazing alone. *pets lizard*
