Not to mention she's a lovely specimen, and I especially enjoy how you made every aspect of her just a little deerlike - from her profile to her eyes to the tips of her fingers and toes. And the antlers and big ears are just the icing on the cake. You know? You have so much interesting information - both on the deer-woman and on the kitsune - I'd be curious to see what you would do with the overdone anime standby of the 'cat girl.' In your hands, I think it could be new again.

Isphording replies: "Firstly, in very rare cases female white-tailed deer (the species upon which this drawing is based) do have antlers. Secondly, antlers while typically associated with males are not exclusively so. For instance, the female as well as the male caribou (a.k.a. reindeer) have antlers. Thirdly, I just like to draw antlers. Call it 'artistic license' if you like."

Should be Rosie the red nosed reindeer probably.
Anyway, this is a gorgeous picture. I'd love it on a shirt or mousemat. And you did it with ballpoint pen, not pencils? Wow. You're really skilled, and you shame me by putting far more research into your pictures than I do. *bows*

But it is good, besides the flatness, but I understand it now.In retrospect, it does look a little awkward. If I were to redo it, I would probably make it less angular.

However, I admit to being a bit disappointed...oh no, not by anything /you've/ done, but by the fact that it's too dern good: the idea of a deer woman essentially exactly like the one you've depicted is one that I've thought of as well, in the doodles in the margins of my French notes, and I thought on maybe creating an elfwood account to expand on the idea...yet now you've gone and perfected it! But really, it's wonderful to find something like this; it's food for the imagination. Plus the owl is very charming. ^.~ Oh, I think there's plenty of room for various interpretations of Deerwomen! I hope you won't let my depictions spoil your artwork.
