Tag As FavoriteComment		Originally this was just a doodle of the horse. Then he became a dragonfly horse, hence the title of the picture. I had intended to do a kind of metallic blue exoskeleton structure but it was too difficult to get the damn thing symmetrical. Anyway, the rest of the picture was just awkward attempts to sort out some kind of setting, so he ended up being accompanied by a nearly naked elf in a field of grass that took far long to do. But hey, at least he HAS a background. Mixed media, coloured in PSP 7.0 with a wacom tablet.

Overall this is a really neat picture. The way you made the leaves in the foreground blurry as though this were taken by a camera is cool. Also, the detail overall is pretty nice.

My complaints- her face is a bit masculine and so are her shoulders- look really broad or something for a female. I think that's it. I love the horse/dragonfly.

:-) Elizabeth Holgate replies: "You're right about the shoulders being masculine, my sister said the very same thing, and perhaps the face isn't delicate enough to be feminine. Glad you like the rest of it though!"

Beautiful! The texture of the grass looks great. Also the colors really compliment the piece. All of it looks quite three dimensional. Personally I do not think the shoulders are too wide. Besides it's nice to see women looking a little more realistic and not idealized.

Your attention to the grass has really paid off. If i seem weird for commenting on all of your artworks, its just because i really like them.
