Elizabeth Holgate

Hi, I'm Liz, a (very) amateur artist with a penchant for violence, pretty men and most things fantasy and science fiction related. I'm 26 years old, living in Nottingham, England and very content there even if it does have one of the worst crime rates in the country. I work at a veterinary centre full time and have a BSc in Animal Science - art lessons were unfortunately left behind when I was 13, and as you can probably see from the gallery, I could do with some.

Generally, I choose to sketch by hand in plain old pencil, scan the work and then modify in PSP with the trusty old wacom tablet. Occasionally I'll start from scratch on the computer, but my success with that is varied and I do admit to at least start things off with the old traditional, by-hand method.

My inspiration comes from books, video games, music and generally seeing how fantastic other people's artwork is. I adore Anne Rice, Lynn Flewelling and Anne McCaffrey's books, Metal Gear solid, Tekken and the Final Fantasy series steal weeks of my life at a time, and I'm always stunned by Linda Bergkvist.
