(Yes, I know necromon is also the name of a Giger painting. It's just my working title for now) Necromon is a project I've been developing for a while now that looks like it might just become an actual videogame (probably available as freeware) sometimes in the next few years. It's another of those monster-raising games, but with a horror theme and bucketloads of violence. This is just a sampling of the monsters I've drawn (many more are in my other galleries. I've designed over a hundred and counting, not all illustrated yet) Their names (from left to right) are Exovoros, Gangrena, Mortigore, Ivule, Beeblezug, Lesion, Malignus, Gastrula, Vader, Pestilous, Mayhem and Graunch.

Players are the agents of a dark council of overlords situated in a city between the human side and ghoul side of their world. This city is the only place where humans and the undead live in harmony, having united for the noble cause of world domination. Monsters aren't captured, but constructed from spare body organs and reanimated in the city's public-access mad laboratories. Each species requires a specific set of components to be reanimated, and the slightest mistake can result in a pathetic, misshappen defect or certain doom at the hands of an out-of-control superbeast.

Once a team of monsters has been organized, the trainers can go out on raids, plundering and demolishing human towns and cities for higher-quality organs, live hostages, and blood (the currency of undead sociey, of course!). While each monster species has at least one ability, battles are primarily fought with vast arsenals of ultraviolent weapons such as dynamite belts, broken beer bottles and the mythical Chainzooka. Humans, too, can be seduced to the dark side and trained to fight as minions (with a wide range of character classes)...or just processed into monster kibble, doesn't matter.

I can't say at this point what the game will be like, but sprite work has already begun and it oughta be pretty big when we're through.
