The abode of King Thaerondur, half elven lord of the mythical realm of Dorn. The keep is situated on a shallow inlet that flows into the fabled lake known as Moonmeer. Moonmeer is said to be a haunted place, only miles away from the dreaded wood known as The Bewilderness.....

Very nice work, especially on the cliffs. Those are hard to draw. Great shading technique!

Sweet pic. Reminds me of my high school... Stern and scary. Haha!

Love the detail in the landscape and the cliffs and rocks..and also, great work on the castle! Would like to see as much detail on the castle as on the landscape part though...this would just add so much more to the picture and also...would like to see something else done with the sky instead of the gradiant black to white. These things would make this picture, that you have already spent hours on, into a truly fantastic picture.

:-) James Carl McKnight replies: "I had toyed with the idea of creating a stonework texture on the castle and sketching a sky in the bg with pencil....."

Wow great composition! And castle and all..
And about the details..I would leave the castle as it is..fear of making it to busy...Now it looks like plaster which in my opinion is nice enough. But the sky could use something tho

Hi, I love this sketch. I have a fantasy novel that will be released in the Spring of 2009. I would like to use this picture inside the book as a chapter heading. This will be my first published novel. I cannot pay you. But, I will credit you in the book and link to your gallery from my site, www.knowyourneed.com. Please say yes, your pic is awesome. Thanks. Joe joeswope at knowyourneed.com

:-) James Carl McKnight replies: "I would prefer that you didn’t use the pic."
