|Inside a dream...||
"…Have you ever felt as if we're just in a dream?"
"Hmmm? What are you talking about?"
"What if this was just a dream? All of this… the sky, the trees, the ground below us… what if it's all fake?"
"Why do you think that? Why would it be fake?"
"Just think about it! What happens to us after the dream is over?"
"Assuming this is a dream, which I'm pretty sure it isn't, then… well, I suppose we'd just disappear."
"…How can you say that so casually? You hardly bat an eye. What if it really was a dream and we're just characters in it?"
"Well, we wouldn't be."
"What do you mean?"
"You see, one of us would have to be the dreamer, then that would mean either you or me would be real, now wouldn't we? The dreamer is always in the dream. But don't think about that."
"What's with all of the questions? …All right, all right, I'll answer, just don't give me that face. …Don't think about whether or not we're in a dream, it'll just make you depressed, I know how you act. Don't worry, we're not in one."
"How can you be so sure? You're so confident, but what if it really was?"
"Would a dreamer be aware that he's dreaming?"
"But you're questioning whether this is a dream or not. So don't you get it? This can't be a dream because you're thinking it may be one."
"Heh, I suppose so. Now don't worry about that any longer, there isn't any use in dwelling in it."
"I can't stop thinking about it though, you know how I am."
"I can't stop thinking about something like this, it always nags at the corner of my mind. I just have this feeling…"
"But I really--"
"I said stop. Stop thinking whether or not this is a dream. Why can't you just enjoy the soft breeze? The crisp air around us?"
"What is it now?"
"If this is a dream--"
"But if it was! Then… I hope that I'm not the dreamer."
"What? Why not?"
"Because the dreamer is the one who has to wake up after all of this. After all of this peace and quiet and utter tranquility… I don't think I can bear having to wake up and find all of that gone. I'd rather be someone created in a dream, where I can just fade away… The dreamer always forgets, if not immediately, than quickly. I don't ever want to forget this."
"But the one in the dream would never remember again. In fact, they wouldn't be real in the first place."
"No, you're wrong, they'll never forget. And I take back what I said before about them not being real. They are real. Some portion of them anyway. They just sleep in a tiny corner of the dreamer's mind. They'll remember for eternity because there is nothing else to remember."
"Gods, you're a strange one. I wonder how we met in the first place."
"…You can't remember?"
"I said, you can't remember?"
"Well… I do, sort of."
"No you don't. How can you forget?!"
"Calm down, Aiyr! Don't worry about it. I'm sure I'll remember in a moment or two."
"I get it now."
"What do you get?"
"We're really in a dream, aren't we?"
"What? I already told you, we aren't!"
"The dreamer is always the last to know."
"What? Aiyr? Why are you crying? Stop it… silly boy, come on! Stop…"
"I'm glad… really I am."
"Because… I'm the one in the dream; I'm the one that never leaves, the one that will remember. You are the dreamer."
"I just wish that you could remember me when you wake up..."
"Aiyr? Where are you going Aiyr? Why are you fading? Stop it!"
