She was not just goddess of love and beauty... she was THE goddess of love. To the artist: You captured the moment. It definately reminds me of Aphrodite perhaps just waking up after a romp with a lover. Beautiful.

| 13 Jan 2004 | Charmed | Loading...I think that picture,is not beutiful,i picture the goddess of love, with blonde hair and not tanned like that,i picture her pretty not ugly like that,it is a great drawring but if thats ment to be the goddess of love then its terrible, watch a tv show called charmed, they got her looks right with pheobe p.S ur drawring sorta looks like a man... | |
| 10 Jul 2004 | Lain | Loading...I think that the picture is beautiful. Aphrodite isnt a person who you can say should look a certain way. She should just be a woman who the artist portrays as sensual in their own way. Aphrodite wasn't probably supposed to be a pale, blond haired person anyways. Really, that is just a twisted way of saying that that is what only beautiful people look like and that is not true because dark skin and dark hair is beautiful too. | |
| 15 Mar 2006 | Kim Minko | Loading...To the artist above, I agree whole heartedly with you, its a wonderful piece and exactly what Aphrodite should look like, I'm not sure if i like the back ground too much, the blue/purple/ grayness makes the pink look too bright, at least to me, i think she'd look even better if she was stretching among some pillars and sprawling green plants. Keep up the good work and smile at the nay sayers they don't have any taste or real appreciation for art. | |

The human body is beautiful in any form, and is the most pure thing that you can draw, most people choose to abuse this with pornographic images and drawings, and they get commended on them, and yours is no where near like that! Yours should be the work getting all the praise! To anyone that says "ewww" you can't be an artist, all artists appreciate drawings of the human form, and one of this quality, should definately get better comments than "Eww" Well Done, its a beautiful piece of work to be proud of. ^_^

| 15 Mar 2006 | Marie Makin | Loading...Perhaps if Charmed thought about the stereotype he/she has formed, he/she would realise that as Aphrodite was a Greek goddess, very few Greeks are born with naturally fair hair and skin.
And even if she is not a real person, why would the Ancient Greeks worship a blonde haired blue eyed fair skinned beauty? Why not a dark haired, olive skinned beauty?
I like this picture, especially the simplicity of the forms.
