| 6 Mar 2003 | Valerie K Flynn | Loading...I just need to say that you have inspired me sooo much. Watercolor is my main medium of artwork. But after looking at your master-pieces!!! I was inspired to pull out my clay and try... of course I flopped... But I still love glazing at your pieces. Do you have a brand of polymer that you use? I would love to know. Keep it up!!! It is so wonderious! Jan McSween replies: "Thanks very much for your comments on my work! I'm glad you like it and that I inspired you to try it. It takes a lot of practice so keep with it. I use Super Sculpy a lot because it is fairly soft. I have recently been using Fimo, but you really have to condition it well to make it usable. " | |

I also love their features, not quite human but fae-ish! I thought about to begin sculpt myself, but I never have time for that...Anyhoo, I'll be back here sometime and look out for updates! ^__^ Jan McSween replies: "Thank you very much for the comments! I try to give my fae a non-realistic appearance because after all they are not human."
| 8 Mar 2003 | Kayla Desi Jenkins | Loading...You're one of the best sculptors I've seen uptodate ;} The better were sculptors of animals..never seen a sculptor of faeries. Gots some pretty faeries Jan McSween replies: "Thank you very much for the great compliments!" | |

Jan McSween replies: "Thank you very much! Practice, practice, practice is all I can say about how I do it. I also studied graphic design in art college and that really helps with the many design elements in each piece."
| 10 Mar 2003 | Jamie | Loading...Oh wow ^___^ these are all awesome! You're amazing! I agree they all remind me of the dark crystal! Lol i loved that movie. After seeing all these i really wish i could get one! Lol n.n; Jan McSween replies: "I take that as extreme praise. That movie and the artist Wendy Froud (wife of creator Brian) is a huge influence in my artistic life. Her dolls are stunning! So...thank you indeed!....Jan" | |
| 30 Apr 2003 | Hannah girl_werewolf@hot.. | Loading...Hi, I'm just commenting to tell you something that you've probably been told a million times before. I think your sculptures, all of them, are amazing! I was wondering how much the Polymer (I think?) Clay stuff costs. I would comment on all of your images, but that seems a bit mad, so I just wanted to comment on your main page. *steals a little talent* Jan McSween replies: "Dear Hannah! Thank you for taking the time to comment and for your kind words. Depending on how large the sculpture is and what I use to decorate them, they aren't too expensive. I do tend to use a lot of antique and vintage materials so that does increase things sometimes....Jan" | |
