SciFi and Fantasy Art Merrow by Janeé A. Polino

I named this one after my Pagan Spirit name. She is who I am inside, and out. I guess a lot of many different pieces of art I do, has something to do with some part of me. In some form or another. I do not look exactly like her, save for the dark eyes and hair. Merrow (in case you wondered) is my elven name. And not the kind that are portrayed as a mermaid/sea creature. Just an average woodland elf, thinking a lot.

12 Oct 2004	Remi Jonathan Eastley	Loading... This is one my favorite piece of yours. I love the way the hair flows onward to become clothing. I love how the entire image is self-contained because of that. The shading is beautiful...I just wish the eyes had been pencil drawn (were they brightened by paint or digitally?) I hope I dont come off as rude...mixing pencil work with digital painting has always come off as jarring to me, but that's my own personal asthetics. If you like that style, that's what matters. Great pic. Janeé A. Polino replies: "Thank you, Jeanette. Forgive this tardy comment to your reply. The entire piece is done in graphite. Then finished with charcoal. No washes or digital. I still have the orginal. And will soon have Merrow up on my new domain. The new link isn't up yet, but soon! And there are new pieces as well! I hope to hear from you again soon, fellow artist.
