She snuck out. Had the handmaidens known what she had intended to do they surely would have reported it to the King or someone else with enough authority to stop her.

A point of criticism: There's something about the necks of these ladies, the shading perhaps, that makes them look unusually thick.
What happens to her handmaidens when the satyrs "attack"? Okay, I'm a dirty old man, I know...

17 Matt Jarrett replies: "Yeah, I wasn't too comfortable about the necks either. After I finished it I kept looking back and forth from my anatomy template and line per line it was still accurate, but I think it MUST be the shading...it looks funky, I know. I suppose I could take it and improve the shading in Paint Shop Pro then repost it. I dunno"

Now come on, how could anyone get sick of Joanna? Heck, you don't have near enough Joanna!

Me: So Aeriline, if I marry you, will we get to have a foursome with these two beautiful handmaidens?

(handmaidens blush, lower their eyes, then raise them, smiling.)

Aeriline: Of course, my lord. As often as it pleases you. (warmly smiling)

Me: Then I think we will find peace between our kingdoms...

(handmaidens giggle, and smile at me blushing)

:-) Matt Jarrett replies: "Oookayyyyyy...just wondering, Lord of the Land, how often do you have to buy a new keyboard cuz the keys begin to stick?"

Oh!...they have clothes. What a surprise.

:-) Matt Jarrett replies: "Oh! Another smart alec comment. What a surprise. I presently have 17 drawings in my Elfwood gallery with women in them, and only in 4 of them do they show any nudity. That's less than 25%."

Excellent work. I did study the necks carefully, you are correct. Line for line they are correct, yet seem rather thick. This is odd, an optical illusion? Of course, were they all three combat trained (longbow would do this) their neck muscles would then be thicker. In any case, overall a wonderful piece.

How diffacult I wonder would it be to reproduce that blue dress. Very nice design.

:-) Matt Jarrett replies: "Well the wierd looking necks is just a piss-poor job on my part in the area of shading and highlights. The dress design I "borrowed" off a drawing I downloaded a long time ago by a professional painter whom I can't recall at the moment. "

Hmmm... I think the one to her right is perttyer than she is. *smiles*

:-) Matt Jarrett replies: "Yeah, that's why the Princess makes her wear an outfit that's not as eye catching as her own!"

I really like the design of the handmaidens' outfits. Aeriline's is kind of a typical fantasy feel, but theirs looks really original. Was it based on anything?

:-) Matt Jarrett replies: "Something new, something borrowed. I got the design from an Excalibur comic book drawn by Alan Davis, with a few artistic modifications of my own 19)"

On the issue of the thick necks: I think the problem is the muscle that connects the neck to the shoulder, if you start the slope of it farther down, it might make the neck seem thinner. It would give the neck some distance of just being straight, and not sloping out wider. It's hard to explain what I mean. Anyway, the way you drew it probably is perfectly anatomically correct, but if you're not happy with it, then take some liberties with it.

I had trouble with the same thing for a long time, but I firgured out how to fix it that way. Anywho, I'll probably be getting a gallery on here soon, so maybe you should drop by when I do and take a look at what I'm talking about.
