Hi, This is my gallery. I draw for fun and occasionally for money. The drawings posted here on this website are not my best work by any stretch of the imagination, but are the only ones that fit the fantasy/sci-fi theme of Elfwood. I work full time for a paralegal company that does the footwork for personal injury attorneys. I like to draw just about everything, and as you can probably tell, I have a strong comic-book style, having even worked freelance for various comic book companies including Innovation Comics, Epic, and Hero Comics at one time or another in the distant past. Recently I haven't had the time to take on any new commisions, be it either professional or personal, but I'm hoping this will someday change. The artists who's work I admire are Alex Ross, Clyde Caldwell, Paolo Eleuteri Serpieri, Keith Parkinson, Alphonso Azpiri, Milo Manara, Steve Epting, Boris Vallejo, Alan Davis, and Greg Hildebrandt. My computer is one of my many hobbies and I hate watching TV except for Babylon 5 and the History Channel. As age creeps up on me I find myself more and more interested in researching world history, with politics being a yet another hobby of mine, as sometimes my rants in the comments area below will attest. I enjoy politcal debate, and I think it was Voltaire who summed up my beliefs most eloquently; 'I may not agree with what you say but I will fight to the death to let you say it.' In other words, politcal correctness is not my style. As with my artwork, you may like what I draw, you may hate what I draw, but please at least be courteous and mature in your comments. How hard is it to be nice?

For those of you wondering, I deleted most of my pics showing nudity due to a conviction in my heart I have been struggling with for some time. I know, I know, my gallery is BORING now, but I guess you all will just have to cope.

Considering your love of history and of drawing, I’d be interested to see you combine the two and draw historical figures. Perhaps not those that we have photograghs of in exsistance, but those we don’t. People we know from history, such as Cleopatra, that we have some idea of her appearance, ( there are accounts and statues,) but that you could still have a little creative fun with, know what I mean? I’m so sick and tired of people drawing Cleopatra as an egyptian woman, for crying out loud, she was Greek! She was the granddaughter of Alaxander the Great and of the Ptolemaic Dynasty. Her famous statue claerly shows a woman with classic GREEK features! Okay, I’ll stop ranting now, lol. Matt Jarrett replies: "I’d like to do one of one of my favorite historical figures; Boudica. I think her story would make an awesome movie. What a woman! I’d also like to do a more modern version of the Bourdeux Tapestry, but that would take an enormous amount of work and time. " 10 Feb 2011 Hannara Loading... Hmm, interesting. I’ll have to look her up, the name Boudica doesn’t ring any bells, it’s a name I’m not familar with. I like learning new things, so you’ve given me a project to research. You know who I was thinking of? Deborah, the woman warrior who led an army of men into battle. Only because you seem to like drawing women warriors. Or what about the famed, Amazon Warriors, or Joan of Arc, the 15th century resistance fighter? It was just the name that slipped my memory. Yes, she was awesome! It always broke my heart to read about her poor daughters, who did nothing wrong and were still punished in such a cruel and sick way. But she certainly had her revenge, didn’t she? It’s a shame she was finally defeated, but history wouldn’t be the same if she hadn’t been I guess,...but still, rock on girl!!! Hey Matt, I just wanted to stop by and say that i like your work. You’re one of those artists that keeps turning up when I go favorite hopping. I like they style, it feels kind of early 80’s. There is a good story behind each of them. I understand the moral obligation of the artist as well, and can respect that you are growing past/ away from, some of your earlier works.
