I am a bit nervous about this one, as I am trying to develop my own computer painting style. I've tried to use higher opacity brushes in this to get away from that 'satin' look you get with photoshop. Also, I am trying to develop my own style of doing armour and metal. It could be neater, but I am pretty happy because I've found the direction I want to go with it. I had major problems issues with her face, because when you flip the image to check for symmetry, it looks really wierd. All my pictures do, so perhaps I am dislexic or something, that my pictures look alright to me one way and not the other. I'm glad it pleases your eye... even if for only the pretty colours in the metal A lot of people have seen this picture and said nothing, so I was starting to think that it must be a really dreadful picture. So thankyou for the comment."

Considering her story, the look in her eyes is telling it all... You almost won't have to read the description to get what she's feeling! I love that. And also I think her face looks like watercolour with this technique, neat! Flipping the picture is a good way if you are looking for symmetry! I do that from time to time, to correct errors I'm too blind to see in the original... Jason Ellis replies: "Hih, well, I think pretty warrior girls should be covered with more metal ^^ Thanks Maja."

Okay, to be perfectly honest, I didn't read the full intro, so frankly I don't know what's going on here, but the picture is fantabulous! I think her face looks lovely, I especially like her lips, is that weird? I must say, I believe that you have somewhat achieved your goal, her armor does look different than the norm - I like it.

That the process shows. This sort of a 'rough' (and still so delicate) and expressive style works fully with her story line and really brings out her character. I must agree with what you said earlier, it's great to see thoughts and meanings behind the art. ..Though it seems that you've always had those. Jason Ellis replies: "Hey, someone who has actually read the story that goes with this picture. Thanks Teija. This picture looks better to me now than when I first put it up. I wasn't sure about the style, but I glad you like it."

Those colours makes the picture look.. hmm.. it's hard to describe, but somehow it's dark and colourfull at the same time. I like it a lot. Jason Ellis replies: "Yes, I've been able to get some things done without you distracting me all the time. Just kidding! *sticks helmet on Tiina's head* Good to see you in the woods again."
| 8 Dec 2004 | Anonymous | Loading...it's like in sparta, the boys were taken at age 7 to train to fight, and the women were trained to ride and dance and fight. Cool! Jason Ellis replies: "Yes, I did this picture after watching a documentry on the Spartan culture. Well done for recognising the influence." | |
