Or scandinavian, if that's a Swedish forest. Beautyful. I wish it was summer gain and I could go to the forests and see how the sun shines through the branches and leaves. Trees can be pretty when they want to

Again, great light and shadow effects. Just gorgeous, I'm quite in awe and inspired to be honest. I think I'll go sketch in the woods today. Jason Ellis replies: "Thanks Suz. Yes, the elf is hard to make out, but even in the full scale version, she is not very big. I guess I drew her as part of the scenery instead of the central piece of the picture. I am actually very satisfied by this picture because the reference I used was a picture that I took myself. I make no secret that I like to use references with my drawings. To me it is a kind of relationship with the object I am drawing, in appreciation of it, as well learning. I am going to use more of my own references in my work in future."

| 13 Jul 2003 | Julia Doering | Loading...That's a great shading of a forest! I know how much patience that takes and you've done it very good! The texture of the trunks and the ground is just awesome. I've to agree though with someone above, that a little gamma-correction would make things easier to make out. But hey, that might as well be a trick of you, to force us to keep looking longer and harder at your pic | |
