My version of Viktoria Sätervik's Leaf Elf. If you look hard enough, you might see her! But can you figure out whether I am referring to the Elf or Viktoria? Somehow the elf acquired an arsenal of sharp intruments. Hihi.

Happy birthday, Vik!

That looks like home... I'm not saying that I live in the forest (not full-time, anyway2 but that forest looks so Finnish. Or scandinavian, if that's a Swedish forest.

Beautyful. I wish it was summer gain and I could go to the forests and see how the sun shines through the branches and leaves. Trees can be pretty when they want to2

I would have put more contrast in it, if this was my work. But it´s yours and on the other hand it´s more delicate this way. The big trees look very majestic as they should look. Oh and I love all the tiny details too ^_^

Wow this looks really amazing! It looks like it took a long time to complete as well. I only wish I could see the Leaf elf a little clearer. 2 Again, great light and shadow effects. Just gorgeous, I'm quite in awe and inspired to be honest. I think I'll go sketch in the woods today.

:-) Jason Ellis replies: "Thanks Suz. Yes, the elf is hard to make out, but even in the full scale version, she is not very big. I guess I drew her as part of the scenery instead of the central piece of the picture. I am actually very satisfied by this picture because the reference I used was a picture that I took myself. I make no secret that I like to use references with my drawings. To me it is a kind of relationship with the object I am drawing, in appreciation of it, as well learning. I am going to use more of my own references in my work in future."

This one was absolutely my favorite in your gallery. It makes me wanna go LARP-ing at ones! =)

That's a great shading of a forest! I know how much patience that takes and you've done it very good! The texture of the trunks and the ground is just awesome. I've to agree though with someone above, that a little gamma-correction would make things easier to make out. But hey, that might as well be a trick of you, to force us to keep looking longer and harder at your pic 12

Luvly pic the landscape is so serene and the shading is the best it makes me think of something i heard..."by the time dusk falls, the forest will rise to its greatness and by the night skies it shall be robbed or its innocence"

Did you use any reference for the forest? That is really amazing work. *jealous*
