| Date | Name | Comment | | | 10 Feb 2003 | Some Finnish guy | Loading...Being the Finnish dood that I am I just couldn't pass this chance . Now I'm wondering WHAT KIND OF A BAS... oops PERSON would willingly visit Finland?? And even like it? You must be sick . Don't take that too seriously. I can't draw myself, but this pic is cool. I like some of your other works, too, but the smudge-style isn't exactly to my liking. Anyway, you're not creating art for ME, so keep your style! Have fun. Jason Ellis replies: "As a matter of fact, I am eating some Salmiakki right now. Well, it is the hot Aussie sun, the dust, flies and droughts that has probably made me such a mad bastard to like cool, sometimes white, sometimes green, non sunburnt, wet Finland. And you Finns seem very keen to give bad press about it, so there must be something pretty good over there Yes, thankyou, I draw for the enjoyment and it is a bonus if other people like some of my work. And I think I am getting less blurry. By the way, you must know us Aussies pretty well, or know me, to call me a BAS... So, if we ever meet in person, I'll shout you a beer, ya ol' bas... " | |

| 6 Aug 2003 | Anna M. Lavonen aka. Chaos | Loading...AHAHAHAHAA!! XD Dragons like salmiakki! Man, you RULE. I'm quite fanatical about dragons and salmiakki myself but this never occurred to me before, I was like 'but of *course*!' Where do you get your salmiakki, btw, I could just bet they don't sell it Down Under. Connections in Finland? And your art is...amazing =P You seem to master half a million medias and techniques (and know Finnish folklore better than I do, dammit ^^; ) Cheers! Jason Ellis replies: "Hey, if you rock and I rule, then that makes Rock and Rule!Oh yes, my sister smuggles it to me. I had a packet in my pocket when I came back through customes into Australia, and even though our customs is very strict, they didn't worry about it.Thanks for the enjoyable comment. I actually feel restricted with my mediums, because I only use those mediums that I can just pick up when I have a bit of a break during work (as I work seven days a week), which counts out mediums like oils and watercolours which involve more preperation and cleaning up. Perhaps one day I will explore a few more mediums like that =)" | |
| 7 Sep 2003 | Hannes Koskela | Loading... Every morning I walk past that building on my way to lukio(guess there's no good equivalent to that in english.. high school's pretty much the same, for all you non-finnish people out there), but I didn't know there lives a salmiakki-eating dragon in there.. By the way, I think salmiakki doesn't have any ammonia in it, it's mostly sugar and sodium chloride(0.4% to be precise). Jason Ellis replies: "Wow, I never expected anyone to recognise the building! It is a nice kind of feeling though to have someone recognise a connection to something in your drawings. Nee probably won't be too happy though, because now the secret is out, she will have to move the dragon :/Hmm, Sodium Chloride? Well, I tried to look it up on the net and could only find this http://dartz.spb.ru/forum/messages/5895.htm " | |
| 17 Sep 2003 | Alexis | Loading...Ah, dear... I'm aussie too, but I suppose my parents missed the memo about the vegemitation ceremony. It is nice, though; and who says you should spread it -thinly- on your toast?? Toast the toast, spread it with butter, then - only AFTER the butter's soaked into the hot toast, otherwise it'll get mushed up with the vegemite and taste wierd - apply a thick layer of vegemite and, if you like; a slice of cheese. Mmmm.... | |

I hate it >< I can't understand why people would eat it ^^ But that's your choice, poor man ^^ You're art is cool, I like the dragons and everything else too, actually ^^ Keep up the good work, aussie ^^
| 2 Aug 2006 | Katja Alakotila | Loading...*lol* It’s so weird seeing finnish writing in an aussies’ pic. Excellent! *5* Obviously you have a thing for Finns. Yaaay! \o/ Good to hear. Finland’s good. Rough and not for milksops (sissies, that is), but good. And salmiakki... well... that’s another story. Just about the only form I like it in is the liquid one. You tried it...? Jason Ellis replies: " Loading... A little bit of weird makes the world go round.
I am like that with beer; I only like it in the liquid form. "
