| 22 Nov 2005 | Jay the Author | Loading...Just posted up a new short story! The extranet projects that my page will be updated in nine days, so hopefully you'll be able to read "The Desert Falcon" at that point. It's a short battle piece somewhat similar to "Final Vengeance" or "Fall of Asmodius", though less epic in scale. | |

| 13 Dec 2005 | Jay the Author | Loading...Welcome, Liari. Most of the stuff is reasonably good, but I take the most pride in the "Arthallin Majeste" series, "In The Grasp Of Death", "Ego", and "What Once Was Lost". Hope you enjoy some of the writings.
On a different note, I'm a little bit irritated about the whole extranet thing right now. A few days ago, I wrote up a little piece specifically to update my elfwood page (since I'd neglected it for so long). I submitted it with a number of page changes (notably edits in the bio).
The story was rejected. Two reasons were quoted. The first asked me to translate a word which I'd written in a fictional language. Okay, fine. The second reason, however, was this: "There is no apparant sci-fi/fantasy content within your story." I found that to be rather off-base. Perhaps the tale lacked overt fantasy content, but it certainly was set in a fantasy setting.
I'm not sure who at Elfwood to contact about that, but it's pretty discouraging. I'm reluctant to change the translation and re-submit it into the queue only to have it rejected once more for a lack of fantasy content. If anyone wants to read the story, just send me an e-mail.

| 24 Mar 2006 | Jay the Author | Loading...Had a chat with the moderators a little while ago which cleared up the above. By Elfwood's definition, fantasy is not constituted with mere swords and medievalish times, so my story needed something else. I suppose I'll continue the story (since magic's involved at some point) and then re-upload it.
Just letting folks know I'm still around. I've been doing some work with film lately, most notably the short film "Packing Slips". Check it out here: http://www.technomonkeymedia.com/movies/

So how's it been going? Feel like an old veteran? I do, because I've been on elfwood longer than four years now. You? Even longer....
| 5 Sep 2007 | Jay the Author | Loading...Longer indeed. I fear I've not been writing lately, at least not in any serious fashion. Lack of time and inspiration are contributing factors both. Work sees to the former, whereas my inspiration is usually thrown into D&D at this point. Dungeons and Dragons has become my creative outlet.
On the off chance I actually put something together, I'll post it up here.
| 3 Apr 2008 | Jay the Author | Loading...I feel I should post a message while passing through. I’m currently preparing for 4th Edition of Dungeons and Dragons, where I will be designing a world for our group’s adventures. If I do any associated writing, I’ll post it up here. | |
