SciFi and Fantasy Art Lord of the Underworld by J.C. Besner

This drawing is actually inspired by a Simon Bisley comic, which appeared in Heavy Metal magazine years ago (Slaine; thanks for refreshing my memory). I only used the theme and pose of the character, however; it is not a copy. In the comic, he is a god of death, and is old and scrawny. He ends up stumbling and breaking one of his horns. This drawing is a more powerful, vengeful ruler of the dark and all of its denizens.

3 May 2005	KARLTON	Loading... Very cool drawing, very cool. It reminds me of Northeastern American Indian myth of the Windingo. A man that eats the flesh of another human in darkest part of winter, he then becomes Windingo, a thing that stalks the winter woods always hungry for more human flesh. The Iriquoi always seem to have it represented with antlers. This is a great representation whether that's what you set out to do or not. I like your work.
