[15in x 22in watercolor]
This image is based on a belly dancer that I snapped a picture of at a local Ren faire. I was going to make her into a DeVia Dirkdancer image, but I half way through penciling it I decided to keep her much closer to her original look. You can see the early DeVia influences moistly in her hair. The rest of the image is just playing around with perspective and the like.

Very interesting indeed. I am working on my own version of this character as well and surprisingly the look very similar in designe.

:-) Jeremy Clay Fowler-Lindemulder replies: "When you complete it, don't forget to send it in to DeVia."

I have completed my version of the character but I have no idea how to submit it. Stop by some time and let me know what you think.

:-) Jeremy Clay Fowler-Lindemulder replies: "You can send it to me or you can send it to DeVia, eventually I get them all to post on her site anyway. Thanx for the heads up... You're in the gallery now."

Why all the fuss about a belly dancer using two swords? I do, as does another troupe member... beautiful artistry. Thanks for choosing a Middle Eastern dancer as your subject, we are honored by your rendition.

:-) Jeremy Clay Fowler-Lindemulder replies: "Thank you, and you're welcome. I was inspired by a digital pic that I took a couple of years back of a dancer from a troup known as the 'Purple Rose of Cairo.'"

Actually, there is a dancer on http://www.angeliqueandfriends.com/california/cal_bellydancer.html who is using 2 swords. Scroll down about half-way to see her. (smile)

:-) Jeremy Clay Fowler-Lindemulder replies: "Thanks for the tip."
