[16in x 20in acrylic on canvas board]
Morning Glory is her name, and she is a druid friend of DeVia Dirkdancer’s. I have a step by step breakdown of this image as an example on my site.

As a note, the bears are not dead, just resting and sunning themselves. Glorianna is a werebear, and gets along with them just fine. Also, evidently she keeps the pixies around because they make wine for her.

The bears are excellent, the pixies are neat, but something about the unicorn and about Morning Glory herself seems a bit, hmm, plastic... maybe it's because the bears seem more detailed than either of those two, or, in the case of the unicorn, the fact that you started from a statue. To me, this picture seems a little bit busy with the unicorn in the background, too, but that may just be an issue of size (though I would have left it out. I also like the leaves and water of the far background very much, but there's a spot to the lower right where the leaves of the bushes are all streaked together-- you might want to focus on that area more and make them more easily visible. All in all, good work!

:-) Jeremy Clay Fowler-Lindemulder replies: "Actually, the one place that I'm not pleased with is on the bottom left in the background. There's a stick that crosses the stream that seems to flatten the space. The fact that the background is farther away should dictate that it is also out of focus, but I didn't like the effect of blurring everything, meaning I got a more of a 'telephoto' effect. With this in mind, diminution is at a minimum. I should have fudged the stick in that area and foreshortened and converged it more, but I didn't. The lower right background actually is more detailed than it looks in this photo (yep - the scan of this painting kept way too much canvas texture, so this is a photo that you're looking at), but it is still background. (I also like the unicorn more than I like the pixies.) The 'plastic' look is probably due to the fact that her skin texture is so smooth. I used craft acrylics and they dried very fast. If I had made her furry, I wouldn't have had so much trouble with her skin texture."

Hi, this is Glory's player. The bears aren't dead (as far as I know). She's a werebear herself. The painting was comissioned by her good friend. DeVia Dirkdancer. I like the painting though the character is actually a bit shorter and rounder (almost chubby).

:-) Jeremy Clay Fowler-Lindemulder replies: "Pleased to [see?] you after so long. I was told you were to be married. I figured you might not want to be chubby for the ceremony."

Wow, THIS is breathtaking!! Really great colors n' all! 2 I really like the little 'My Little Pony'-like horse behind her, it's so adorable!! The bears are really great too! 2

:-) Jeremy Clay Fowler-Lindemulder replies: "Thanks, I like the colors too. I had been doing a lot of black and white at the time, and this was my bright color break away from that stream of pics. I do that periodically."

I am new to the woods and was wondering what you use as a media. Specificly for the trees / shrubs in the background. Fabulous work.

:-) Jeremy Clay Fowler-Lindemulder replies: "This picture is acrylic paint on canvas board. The paints are cheap hobby acrylics - a brand called “Apple Barrel.” I use a palette of hand selected primaries, secondaries, black white and brown for the most part. I mix whatever i need from those. The trees are a mixture of Hunter Green, Hunter Green + Flame Red (for the darker greens) with Hinter green + Bright Yellow for the highlights. I used a blot method with brushes size 1 to 3, and an occasional #2 fan brush or my finger when necessary."

im wondering if the markings on her scarf say anything ,
little bear to the right seems to be smiling ,
would you like to paint some hops fairies ?

:-) Jeremy Clay Fowler-Lindemulder replies: "The scarf... It's sort of a runic alphabet... What is a 'hops fairy?' Is that a fairy that makes beer?"

My mother has been a graphic artist for many years. As such, I know whent someone has talent. You sir, are talented. Keep up the good work and I'll keep checking back with you.

:-) Jeremy Clay Fowler-Lindemulder replies: "I guess I'm a 'skinnerian' at heart. Talent is an illusion of practice."
