Tag As FavoriteComment		This is an experiment with acrylic paint. I was based on a dream I had in April 2004. It is set in a huge underground cave with a large underground lake. The elf girl is climbing the rock and trying to hold on to the roof of the cave. Suddenly she realises the eyes and face of the rock spirit were looking at her. Far below her, she can see the dark blue water of the underground lake. It is blue at the top and black at the bottom because it is so deep and wide. Then she slips and falls into the underground lake.

It may have been intended as an experiment but it is surrealistic. I say that because you based it on a dream. Just in case you're not aware of it the definition of Surreal is having the quality of being dreamlike or nightmarish. Many artists are inspired by dreams and nightmares.

Urrm soz but isn't the hair menna fall down coz of the gravity?

12 Jessica Conaire replies: "Hi, thanks for the comment! Normally the hair would fall down because of gravity, but in my dream the elf-girl's hair did not fall down. This is because she is magical and in dreams sometimes weird things like that happen."

Acryl! I tried myself on acrylics but it wasn't half that good...
I like the gloomy athmosphere in this pic! Just her hands seem a bit flat...
Anyway...nice pic!

12 Jessica Conaire replies: "  Thanks for the comment. I'm pleased with the way it turned out, as I tried to make it look really dark, because it is in a dark cave but I also wanted to be able to see the elf girl holding on to the cave wall and the rock face looking down on her."

Even if you weren't dizzy in this position, I get dizzy looking at it. 2

Lovely works with the acrylics here. I like the darkness of the painting. That gives it an even more dreamlike feeling.
