"Dragonblink" by J. ´Kythera´ Contreras

Allow me to field the costuming comment. When the artist says the outfit is modeled on my Renaissance Faire garb, she ain't kidding -- that's pretty much exactly what I wear. Pendragon bodice, modified Thai wrap skirt, leather belts from Mervyn's and Target, a few small chains here and there in case it's windy, studded suede bracers. But not the sword, alas. Oh, how I wish I could have the sword.

In any case, there's a fair few "trashy" dressers at Ren Faire, but I ain't one of them. Horribly anachronistic, yes, trashy, no. Nobody's ever accused me of lacking dignity either, not even the guys playing the Puritans.

As for the furniture -- well, the blue Blink could have modeled on, say, my fakewood IKEA computer desk, but she probably would've blocked my view of the monitor and knocked my iPod onto the floor.

My problem with pictures of these mutant people is that they're always such trashy dressers. I realize with the wing-like-appendages it must be difficult to wear anything proper, but come on, have some dignity. And get some actual furniture, while you're at it.

I should add, in the interests of full disclosure, that I'm nowhere near that buff in person (been slacking about going to the gym), my hair isn't naturally that color (Clairol Natural Instincts Rosewood), and I'm a chick (although I get the wrong pronouns online all the time). The tattoos are real, though.

Dragonblink, you kick ass. And I don't say that because you could slash my head off fater than I can type this comment (Which brings me to my next point: sweet sword). Kythera, excellent rendition of DB, you did well.
