| 7 Mar 2007 | Wilma van Strijp | Loading...Ok...disturbing... I like it..specialy cause theres something there beside her in the dark..which you cant quit make out...who knows what shes planning on doing...yikes! And btw...leeches today are still used in medicine to get severed fingers etc to grow back on (it makes the blood run better trough the finger and thus stimulates growth ) And so we end our medical class for today.. | |

| 7 Jan 2008 | Shadowfriend | Loading...Eeep! That one is a freaky... umm... thing. And coming from me, that is praise. I don't freak or scare with any great ease, and this made me somewhat uncomfortable for a few momens. Well done I say. | |
| 3 Aug 2008 | Danica Beverley Wells | Loading... It’s really nice! And I really like how you made her a nurse - it’s almost somewhat ironic: since well, as you know in medieval times the "docters" thought that diseases were in the blood, and so they bled you to try and get the disease out. Then, I don’t know exactly how much later, people started putting leeches on their patients and the sick to drain out the "bad blood". Still today, I think they’ll occasionally empty a pot of leeches on people...
This is a well done piece... although I HATE leeches (they are soooo gross!) and things that don’t have eyes, but just a mouth (or a round mouth with lots of teeth...

| 27 Jul 2011 | Jeanette M Thomas | Loading...Wasn’t a doctor or medical pratitioner also referred to as a leech? In that sense, couldn’r "Leechwife" mean healing woman????? Jamie Worthington replies: "They were indeed called leeches, due to the practice of bloodletting either through cuts or with leeches. In this case, the song I referenced in the description specifies leeches:
"One leech is all it takes
It sucks the blood ’til it’s fat
It’s found in ponds and lakes..."
Thanks for the comment!"
