I saw this picture in a magazine of a little girl and sketched it out, then I modified it a little. I think that it turned out cute. It's a bit sloppy because of how fast I did it. It would have looked better if I'd taken my time.

This is extremely cute. Your realism compositions are really looking great. Anyhow, you've caught the emotion of the 'magazine' picture, which is a great talent. I say go for it if it works for you. Hey, it works for me too, and I must say many other Artists out there. Its a great source out there thats close at hand and quite affordable, which is great for those of us who can't pay for 'model study' classes. Eepp. I've written to much. Again, great work. She's a cutie. Well, drop by my perch sometime or other. I'd be glad to trade tips with you. Peace

:-) Rachael Evans replies: "Thanks Ashleigh. It's nice to know that someone out there agrees with me. And, as a matter of fact, I will stop by your gallery soon."

I'd say it's a great pic for quick and sloppy. When your quick and loose in the beginning, drawings tend to come out more fluid later (or so I'm told, hehe).

:-) Rachael Evans replies: "I think you're right about that. This took less than an hour, background and all; and I have a hard time with backgrounds. But it seems, the less time I take, the better people like them. Thank you for the compliment, coming from you that means a lot!"

I'd have to agree - people seem to like the art that I spend the least time on. Like your work.

:-) Rachael Evans replies: "Thanks. I'll be on my way over to your gallery soon."

You call this a fast one? It looks to me like you have taken some time on this one. I could never draw something like this fast. I would need some time.

:-) Rachael Evans replies: "*laughs* Well, it only took about an hour to do, and if I would have slowed down and taken more time, it may have turned out better. But thank you."

An hour to draw in.. *cries due to her own lack of time* I have too much homework. I have to do my drawings in lots of little bits most of the time. But now I'm on holiday, So I am trying to draw as much as possible within the next 4 weeks. I m actually drawing and looking at elfwood at the same time. This, I have discovered, is not ideal, because my drawing of Mont Saint Michel (France) has eneded up invaded by dragons.....* Looks at art * Wow, that is an amazing faerie, I sure wuld not be able do draw that in only an hour..caw... *faints due to over artyness and brilliance of piccie*

Wow! Thats so cool. It is a little light, but that tends to be because of a scanner or computer more often then not. You do beautifully done realistic faces.. very nice. And your shading is wonderful (As always.) This one would be neat to see in color.

:-) Rachael Evans replies: "Thanks Brian ^^ I really should rescan all of my old pictures, not that I know how to use my scanner, because I could fix it. I tend to shy away from coloring realistic pictures, I don't think I'm good enough to make it turn out the way it *should* look. I'm getting better, maybe some day I'll start using watercolor, my real true love!"

WHAT?!?!? I forgot to comment on this one?!?! Hmmm...This is one of my favorite pictures in your gallery, Rachael! I don't know what I like about it exactly...maybe it has something to do with the fact that I'm often in a "reflecting" mood....I love it!^_^

1 Rachael Evans replies: "Thanks Lyss ^.^ I like her too!"

wow. That's so how I pictured the girl in my poem, so perfectly innocent, carefree and happy. And you say this isn't great? How could it be better? You are amazingly talented. I love all your pictures, you definitely don't give yourself enough credit.

:-) Rachael Evans replies: "Aww, you're so sweet ^^ Thank you kindly for your sincere compliment, a joy to hear!"

It's so beautiful! I love the way the fae is so bright compared to the surrounding that's darker, it makes her really stand out as a magical being.

:-) Rachael Evans replies: "Thank you Liliane! A very flattering compliment coming from someone so talented as you! I thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to stop in and leave your thoughts ^^"
