This is a portrait of one of the characters in Margi Fisher's (an elfwood author) book, Gates of Avaelon.

Melissa lives in North Carolina working as a columnist at her local newspaper. With terrible memories of her past suppressed, she gets a little more than what she bargained for when she moves back to her childhood home.

Wai!! ^^ Shini thinks it almost scarily exactly fits the way she's always thought of Melissa! ^^;; She's soooooo pretty! Thank you, thank you, thank you for drawing her! *squeals*

:-) Rachael Evans replies: "  *giggles with delight* I am SO happy that you like her! What you think of the characters is right up there with Margi! Oh, I'm so glad you like her! Oh yeah, your welcome, your welcome, your welcome!! "

Cool!

:-) Rachael Evans replies: "Thanks Jashen. I just finished reading ch. 5 of your book, I like it. So I know I've seen your comments left in 'Gates,' have you started 'Lands of Avaelon'?"

Intersting to see how others picture her... I think you did well trying to draw all the characters though.. I always chicken out on that sort of thing cause I never seem to get on paper what is in my head. So well done! And just as a general note.. try make your shading a bit darker, it'll make the characters stand out more!

:-) Rachael Evans replies: "Thanks for the compliment. This was the first one I did of the characters, and she didn't turn out exactly like I pictured either. Thanks for the tip on shading, I'll try to incorporate it into my next picture. You aren't the only one that's told me that, I'm just so scared of messing up and not being able to fix it ^^ I'm glad you stopped by my gallery, that means a lot.By the way, look for a picture of Zakk and Melissa coming soon : )"

SO KEWL!!! i like to imagine her with curly hair, BUT THAT'S JUST ME AND MY WEIRDNESS * dances away*

:-) Rachael Evans replies: "You wanna hear something funny, I imagined her with curlier hair then I gave her. She just came out on the paper like that. She was also the first character portrait that I did, and I didn't send it to Margi for corrections like I did with the rest of them. There is one of her and Zakk coming soon."

A lovely picture, but her forhead on the left side (left when you are looking at it, her right if you want to be technical), her forhead does not have enough curve to it. It goes straight up, and it needs to curve a bit more at the temple. Other than that, quite lovely.
