Well, I'll soon fix that. ::does ritual, prehistoric first comment dance, but avoids the whole sacrifice thing:: I love this picture; the atmosphere is perfect, and I love how you've painted the pair of them... the smith and the seductress, back in caveman times. But I have to ask, because this is what occurred to me... Was this inspired by the rather famous Venus of Willendorf statue? That statue seems to present an exaggerated version something like the full curves you like in the women you paint, and the funny stippling around its head is in some ways even similar to the wildness of her hair. Bravo. Like this a lot. Jedediah Dougherty replies: "Thank you for the dance: I don't know if this venus is Directly Willendorfian, but a lot of my pictures are influenced by that type of Earth Goddess image."

I do like the man in the background, his expression is priceless, like if you mess with his goddess he'll smack you with his hammer. But I especially like Venus herself...rarely have I seen a better-rendered goddess. She has a beautiful expression and a wonderful shape to her. The way you did the lighting is really great, too, I noticed that right away. The cool tones to her back and the firey ones in front are just right and set the mood of the scene perfectly. Very well done! Jedediah Dougherty replies: "Thank you! I worked on those contrasting lightings for quite a while."

It's wonderful that you have the ability to draw highly sexual nudes without making them defined by their nudity or sexuality. To me that speaks of some scary talent. ~May Jedediah Dougherty replies: "Thanks! I'll try and live up to your high praise!"
| 7 Oct 2005 | Anon | Loading...Why not show the back side of this picture with her pitted, pocky, creased, lumpy, bruised foldy-parts coming together in all their sweaty, zitty, heat rashy ugliness? Great technique though. Jedediah Dougherty replies: "You, anon, are a wordsmith! As for backside- that will have to wait for another picture." | |

I for one is glad that they are content with just looking back at us from their pictures, daring us to say anything nasty about them at the risk of sudden death... I love them and find them very beautiful, alluring and fantastic! Not to mention your great talent at colouring and shading! Perfect!
