An acrylic painting from 2001. A giant stone goddess stands crumbling in the desert, forgotten by her worshippers. This painting was inspired by the 'Ozymandias' poem and by the Taliban of Afghanistan when they were blowing up the giant stone Bhuddas in the desert.

It's so Ozymandias (I think maybe I misspelled that)! I like the yellow overtones. Very warm, very desert. Her figure is absolutely fabulous.

You've done the impossible. You've created a picture that made me cry! Seeing this picture and the words "forgotten by her worshippers" just caused the tears to leap to my eyes! I applaud you and your glorious artwork! *applaud* *tear tear*

My god this is gorgeous. You have a talent for robust women. It reminds me of the great mother from the Clan of the cave bear series. Absolutly gorgeous.

Wow, that's one of my favourite poems, Percy Bysshe Shelley, who wrote it was like my great great grandfather or something, through Mary Shelley (Godwin). It's a great twist you've put on it here. She is cuts an impressive figure but is almost pitiful without her admirers and builders to worship her and make her real or meaningful. Poor thing is just a hunk of rock crumbling into dust.

Re: Comments associated with "Collossal Goddess, note the correct spelling of "Buddha". Actually it is more corredt to say "The Buddha" because "Buddha" is not a personal name. It means "The enlightened one".
